South Korean actress Kim Ji‑eun has been spotted in Almaty and has already been sharing her impressions on social media. On Instagram, she posted a set of photos taken in the winter mountains, presumably at Shymbulak Resort.

The post went viral among Kazakhstani users, who are actively welcoming Kim and sharing positive reactions to her arrival in Kazakhstan.

The K-drama actress is best known for her role as an intelligence agent in the series “The Veil”, for which she won Best New Actress at the 2021 MBC Drama Awards. She has also appeared in “Love Next Door” and “One Dollar Lawyer”.

Several fans claim to have spotted Kim walking in the city and the mountains.

At the same time, Threads users are actively discussing possible reasons for South Korean actors visiting Kazakhstan. Some speculate that the country may be hosting a K-drama shoot, as other South Korean actors have been seen in various locations recently.

For instance, actor Eom Moon-suk (“The Fiery Priest”, “Backstreet Rookie”, “Hello, Me!”) posted photos from Kolsai Lakes several days ago. Furthermore, users mention actors Hyun Bong-sik and Hwang Hee, who were reportedly spotted in Kazakhstan in late November.

However, there has been no official confirmation of any South Korean filming in Kazakhstan. Still, the coinciding visits by multiple actors have sparked interest and fueled rumors of a possible production.

Previously, Anupam Tripathi, star of the globally popular series “Squid Game”, posted a selfie outside Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) and shared Instagram Stories showing the city streets.
