Kazakh national postal operator Kazpost has resumed sending parcels to the U.S. The service was previously halted due to restrictions imposed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The operator stated that international shipments can now be handled under a new procedure with the Zonos service — approved by CBP. Customers should file a customs declaration in advance via the Zonos app for iOS and Android before visiting the post office.

To do this, the sender needs to sign up via the app, confirm their email, choose the type of shipment — either a regular parcel or a gift worth up to $100 — and select Kazpost as the operator.

The declaration can be completed manually or using AI by taking a photo of the parcel’s contents. Payment is accepted via Visa and Mastercard. The customer then receives a QR code and a declaration number, which must be presented at the post office.

Kazpost noted that the declaration is valid for five days and must be filed for each parcel.

In September 2025, Kazpost reported suspending shipments of parcels containing goods to the U.S., citing guidance issued on Aug. 26 by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that affected shipments from most countries.
