Legendary composer Hans Zimmer, famous for numerous film soundtracks including «The Lion King (1994)» and «Dune (2021)» and Bleeding Fingers Music — artist’s music company — are set to score music for the upcoming HBO «Harry Potter» series, Variety reported.

The soundtrack is expected to remain rooted in the musical tradition of «Harry Potter,» with the sound reimagined for the large-scale series. The premiere is scheduled for 2027, based on the books by J.K. Rowling, with each one getting a separate season. The viewers will see screenings of «Sorcerer’s Stone,» «Chamber of Secrets,» «Prisoner of Azkaban,» «Goblet of Fire,» «Order of the Phoenix,» «Half-Blood Prince» and «Deathly Hallows.»

The upcoming series will be shown on HBO Max. Zimmer and composers Kara Talve and Anže Rozman noted that it was an honor to join the project.

«Magic is all around us, often just beyond reach, but as in the world of Harry Potter, you simply must look for it. With this score we hope to bring audiences that little bit closer to it whilst honoring what has come before,» Variety cited the composers as saying.

Zimmer is one of the most famous composers in the cinema world, having won two Oscars. He has also worked on television projects, including BBC series and documentaries.

The upcoming series has drawn considerable interest ahead of its release. The format offers the opportunity to explore the story and characters in greater depth than the film adaptations.
