In early January 2026, Citix MENA, a technology company from Kazakhstan, announced two strategic deals. First, the company agreed to join Turlov Private Holding, the investment vehicle of Timur Turlov, a well-known businessman in the country, and second, it signed a contract with the government of the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Turlov deal details
The parties have already agreed on the main terms of Citix MENA’s merger with the holding and are now in the process of obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
By joining Turlov’s structure, the startup will gain access to long-term financing and management expertise. As a result, it will be able to roll out large-scale expansion in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
«Having Turlov Private Holding on board will give us the opportunity to develop the model systematically and in the long term,» said Stepan Kasatkin, CEO of Citix MENA.
Sharjah contract
The startup has also signed an agreement with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), the authority responsible for the development of tourism and the urban environment in the emirate.
Within the first phase of the cooperation, Citix MENA will deploy a network of its smartboards in iconic locations in Sharjah, such as Al Qasba, Al Heera Beach, Flag Island and Khorfakkan.
The devices will broadcast city information, display emergency notifications and help with navigation.
As Citix utilizes its own software, it can adjust its content to the weather, time of day and traffic density at any given moment. All in all, Citix MENA plans to expand its digital infrastructure across the entire emirate.
Citix MENA is an international company launched in Kazakhstan. It develops smart city displays (smartboards) and software for managing urban data. The company is currently scaling its business in the MENA region.
