Four days left to nominate the next Nobel Peace Prize winner

The deadline to nominate candidates for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize is Jan. 31 at midnight CET.
All living individuals and active organizations or institutions are eligible for the prize. However, only certain categories of people are authorized to submit nominations.
Who can nominate
Eligible nominators include members of national legislatures and national governments of sovereign states, current heads of state, university professors, and past recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize. Nominations are preferably submitted through an online form.
Neither the names of nominators nor nominees may be disclosed for 50 years, in accordance with Nobel Committee rules.
Record number of candidates
The Norwegian Nobel Institute has registered a total of 338 candidates for the 2025 Peace Prize, including 244 individuals and 94 organizations. The highest number of nominations on record was in 2016, when 376 candidates were submitted.
As in the case of U.S. President Donald Trump last year, numerous signals — both official and informal — that someone is being actively promoted for the Nobel Peace Prize do not guarantee that the award will be granted.

In 1974, the leading nominees by number of nominations were Brazilian Catholic Bishop Helder Camara, an advocate of nonviolence in the pursuit of peace and social justice, and Soviet physicist and human rights activist Andrei Sakharov. Neither received the Peace Prize that year. Sakharov was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1975.
If we were to nominate
Among the figures we consider worthy of nomination is Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen, whose artistic work advances the ideals of peace globally.
Millions of people around the world admire Dimash for his extraordinary voice and creative energy, which bring together fans from many countries. Based on testimonials collected from devoted fans in Belgium and Switzerland, he could be described as an exceptionally effective «cultural therapist.»
