Kazakhstan’s top-ranked tennis player, Alexander Bublik, retained his position in the top 10 in the updated ATP rankings, whose run at the Australian Open 2026 stopped at the fourth round. Currently, Bublik is training for the Davis Cup match with the national team.

Australia’s Alex de Minaur, who ended the Kazakhstani player’s AO 2026 run, was then defeated by the eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz and retained the sixth position in the rankings.

The tournament’s finalist, Novak Djokovic, who was beaten by the world No. 1, climbed from fourth place to third. The result is not the limit for the Serbian, who overtook Germany’s Alexander Zverev — the AO 2026 semifinalist — in the rankings. Djokovic is the all-time record holder for most weeks at world No. 1, with 428 weeks.

On Jan. 31, Bublik arrived in Astana with his family. On Feb. 6-7, Kazakhstan’s national team will face Monaco’s team. Along with Bublik, the nominees are Alexander Shevchenko, Dmitry Popko, Timofei Skatov and Beibit Zhukayev. The contest will consist of four singles matches and one doubles match.

The updated doubles rankings reported massive progress by Amir Omarkhanov (+164). The 18-year-old player, paired with American Gavin Young, won the title at the ITF M15 Manacor 2026 tournament. However, the former junior has not been nominated for the adult national team.
