A massive aviation hub is under construction in Dubai and is being billed as the largest airport in the world.

Blogger Ruslan Akopyan shared a video on Instagram showing a large-scale model of the project. The architectural model stretches several meters in length, highlighting the sheer scale of the future airport. Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central, will cover tens of square kilometers.

Under current plans, the first phase of construction is scheduled to be completed by 2030.

The total area of the air hub is expected to reach about 70 square kilometers, several times larger than the existing Dubai International Airport. Once fully operational, Al Maktoum International is projected to handle up to 260 million passengers annually.

The airport complex will feature five runways, hundreds of gates and multiple passenger terminals, along with surrounding residential and business districts. Emirate authorities have said the project will cost about $35 billion and is expected to eventually replace Dubai International as the city’s primary aviation hub.
