AI is officially hiring humans to ‘touch grass’ for them

An unusual website, Rentahuman.ai, has appeared online, offering users the chance to «rent a human» to perform real-world tasks. The platform’s creators put it bluntly: «Robots need your body.» Despite the ominous phrasing, the service has nothing to do with science fiction or a robot takeover. It is, at its core, a way to get paid for everyday work.

The slogan may sound threatening, but the concept is far simpler. No robots are actually hiring anyone. Instead, the platform functions as a marketplace where people hire other people, with artificial intelligence helping match tasks to available contractors and manage logistics.

The list of tasks may seem odd at first, but all are practical and familiar. They include buying and delivering goods, visiting stores to check product availability, testing services, taking photos on location, attending meetings and similar errands.

The creators explain the idea this way: artificial intelligence can handle many digital processes, but it cannot yet carry out physical actions in the real world. Those tasks still require humans, while neural networks help coordinate and streamline the work.
