
Italian world second-ranked tennis player Jannik Sinner took on the role of a ticket inspector at a railway station in Milan ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the official volunteer ambassador of the event checked passengers’ tickets at the car entrance as part of the Olympics promotion campaign.
The 24-year-old tennis player has 24 ATP singles titles, including four Grand Slams. In the recent Australian Open 2026 tournament, he lost to Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in the semifinal in five sets: 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 4-6, 4-6.
Sinner has one US Open (2024) and one Wimbledon (2025) title and won the Australian Open twice, in 2024 and 2025.
The official Opening Ceremony of the XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held today, on Feb. 6, at Milan’s San Siro Stadium, where the Olympic flame will be lit. The event will run from Feb. 6 to Feb. 22 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Kazakhstan is represented by 36 athletes across 10 sports.
Kazakhstan’s flag bearers will be freestyle skier Ayaulym Amrenova and short-track speed skater Denis Nikisha.
