At 59, Tan appears closer to his 30s, thanks to his toned physique and smooth skin — features that have sparked admiration and curiosity across social media. His popularity surged online, where his account on Instagram has attracted about 1.7 million followers.
From pop music to photography
Tan began modeling in the 1980s, later pursued a brief career in pop music, and eventually founded his own photography studio. He is now an established photographer who works with well-known clients and brands.
Simple eating habits
Rather than following strict diets, Tan maintains what he describes as a clean and consistent routine. He avoids alcohol and coffee and typically eats six eggs with a glass of milk for breakfast, sometimes adding berries or avocado. He takes daily vitamins and includes plenty of vegetables and leafy greens in his meals.
He generally steers clear of sweets and junk food but occasionally enjoys vanilla ice cream or durian, a Southeast Asian fruit known for its strong odor. Tan also drinks ample water and avoids eating for five to six hours before bedtime to allow his body to rest.
Balanced exercise routine
Physical activity is a regular part of his schedule, though he avoids overtraining. Tan goes to the gym three to four times a week for sessions lasting about one to one and a half hours, combining strength training with cardio. He frequently emphasizes the importance of rest, along with spending time outdoors and staying active throughout the day.
Sleep and skincare essentials
Tan considers sleep the most important factor in maintaining his appearance. He typically goes to bed by 11 p.m. and aims for seven to eight hours of rest each night.
His skincare routine is minimal, relying mainly on moisturizer and sunscreen with an SPF of at least 60.
Despite widespread fascination with his youthful look, Tan says he does not view himself as «forever young,» instead attributing his appearance to a steady lifestyle and consistent self-care.
