The snow leopard is on Kazakhstan’s Red List and considered a rare species. However, the appearance of a female snow leopard with her brood indicates that the reserve provides a favorable habitat for these animals.
Such footage is considered very fortunate, as snow leopards lead a highly discreet lifestyle and are rarely caught on camera, even by camera traps.
Notably, the number of encounters with wild cats in Almaty has reportedly increased recently.
