Kazakhstan advises its nationals in Iran to leave by land routes

Kazakhstani citizens who are in Iran may leave the country by land, as flights have been suspended, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Iran stated.

The mission in Iran has established a 24-hour emergency hotline for citizens of Kazakhstan in Iran. They are asked to contact the diplomatic missions to coordinate arrangements for departure from Iran via the land borders with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and Turkmenistan.

Through these communication channels, citizens may apply for consular assistance and report their location and situation.

Due to the escalation of the geopolitical situation, the Embassy recommended enhancing personal safety measures, including:

  • refraining from visiting crowded places and participating in public events;
  • regularly monitoring reports from local authorities and official sources of information;
  • limiting non-essential travel;
  • always carrying identification documents;
  • being prepared for possible emergencies;
  • maintaining constant contact with the diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan.
