Kazakhstan’s OPEC+ April quota is set at 1.579 million barrels per day (bpd), according to the organization. Meanwhile, the March quota stands at 1.569 million bpd, up by 10,000 bpd.

Overall, OPEC+ decided to increase oil production in April by 206,000 bpd: Algeria — 977,000 bpd (up 6,000 bpd); Iraq — 4.299 million bpd (up 26,000 bpd); Kuwait — 2.596 million bpd (up 16,000 bpd); Saudi Arabia — 10.166 million bpd (up 62,000 bpd); the UAE — 3.429 million bpd (up 18,000 bpd); Oman — 816,000 bpd (up 5,000 bpd); and Russia — 9.637 million bpd (up 62,000 bpd). The organization did not increase oil production quotas in the first quarter.

«In view of the steady global economic outlook and current healthy market fundamentals, as reflected in low oil inventories, the eight participating countries decided to resume the unwinding of the 1.65 million barrels per day of additional voluntary adjustments announced in April 2023 and agreed on a production adjustment of 206 thousand barrels per day. This adjustment will be implemented in April 2026,» the statement read.

The OPEC+ member states emphasized that the new measure will allow them to accelerate compensation for overproduced oil volumes.

For instance, the compensation plan for Kazakhstan for the period from January to June 2026 is as follows: January — 503,000 bpd; February — 629,000 bpd; March — 549,000 bpd; April — 569,000 bpd; May — 569,000 bpd; and June — 669,000 bpd, for a total of 3.488 million bpd.

The virtual meeting took place on March 1, amid a Brent price increase to nearly $72 per barrel — the highest level since August 2025 — despite concerns that excess supply could lead to lower prices. The next meeting is scheduled for Apr. 5.
