Nearly 1,000 Kazakh citizens evacuated from the Middle East

Due to the escalating situation in the Middle East, Kazakhstan is repatriating its citizens on an emergency basis. Currently, 946 nationals have returned.
Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee reported that four flights carrying Kazakh citizens returned on March 4.
Air Astana carried out the following flights from Saudi Arabia:
- At 9:28 p.m., KC2202 landed in Aktau from Medina with 142 nationals onboard.
- At 1:19 a.m., KC2208 from Medina landed in Atyrau with 145 citizens onboard.
- At 2:50 a.m., KC2206 from Jeddah arrived in Atyrau carrying 174 passengers.
- At 3:34 a.m., KC2204 from Jeddah landed in Atyrau, delivering 179 passengers.
Furthermore, the airline SCAT is operating a flight from Oman on the Almaty–Muscat–Almaty route. Passengers are to be evacuated aboard a Boeing 767 aircraft with a capacity of approximately 290 seats.
