Apple unveiled the new MacBook Neo, an affordable laptop aimed at students and entry-level users. Kursiv LifeStyle explains the differences between the familiar Air and the new laptop’s specifications.

The new MacBook is equipped with a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, the A18 Pro processor — the same one used in flagship iPhones — 8 gigabytes of RAM, and storage options of 256 or 512 gigabytes. The device also features a 1080p camera, two USB-C ports and Wi-Fi 6E support.

The declared battery life is 16 hours, and the weight is 1.2 kilograms.

The model is available in four colors: Silver, Blush, Citrus and Indigo. The color palette likely aims to appeal to students.

At the same time, to maintain the lower price, the manufacturer gave up several features available on the MacBook Air. The basic version lacks Thunderbolt and MagSafe support, as well as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and backlit keys.

The price starts at $599, with a discounted $499 price available to students and employees of educational institutions through the education program, making MacBook Neo Apple’s most affordable laptop in the company’s history.

Sales are scheduled to start on March 11, 2026.
