World-renowned Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen and actress Samal Yeslyamova received awards from the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information reported.
The awarding ceremony took place in Astana. Qudaibergen was recognized for his contribution to the development of Turkic culture. The artist received the Order of Cultural Ambassador of the Turkic World — the organization’s highest award.
Actress and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Samal Yeslyamova, was honored with the organization’s special prize in the «Best Artist of the Turkic World» category for her contribution to the development of Turkic and global cinema.
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev highlighted the role of Kazakhstani artists in the development of a shared cultural space among Turkic countries.
Accepting the award, Qudaibergen emphasized that the support of listeners remains the greatest recognition.
«For an artist, the highest reward is recognition and support from the people. I see this award as an important gesture that indicates the strengthening of diplomatic relations between our countries. I see this award not as a personal one, but as a sign of respect and honor shown to all the people of Kazakhstan,» the singer said.
Notably, Qudaibergen is the second person to be honored with this order. Previously, Nobel laureate Prof. Aziz Sancar from Turkey was recognized with the title.
Previously, the artist delighted fans with a photo shoot. He uploaded a series of atmospheric pictures on Instagram and other social media platforms, sparking reactions and comments.
