ChatGPT to be available to 200,000 teachers

Kazakhstan is preparing for a pilot launch of ChatGPT Edu. The project is expected to involve 200,000 teachers in 2026, who will be able to use AI to reduce their workload.

ChatGPT integration into the education system is expected to enhance the quality of training, make teachers’ workflow more efficient and develop students’ inquiry skills. The project also aims to automate academic processes.

Teachers in Kazakhstan will receive a ‘smart assistant’

The tool will help prepare lesson plans in minutes, create tests and assignments, and adapt learning materials for students of different age groups in three languages.

«The tool will help teachers explain complicated topics in class in simple language, use real-life examples and turn lessons into discussions or research work,» the ministry noted.

ChatGPT may also assist teachers in developing assessment criteria, analyzing student work, and preparing personalized feedback.

Previously, the ministry announced guidelines for teachers on using AI in class.
