HBO has released the first trailer for the «Harry Potter» series reboot. Kursiv LifeStyle takes a look at what is shown in the video and when to expect the premiere.

The trailer begins with a familiar scene of Harry Potter living in a cupboard under the stairs at the Dursleys’ house, dealing with his cousin’s bullying and his relatives’ hostile treatment, with everything changing after the letter from Hogwarts.

Familiar moments follow — meeting Hagrid, introduction to the magical world, and the scene on Platform 9¾. On the train, Harry meets Ron and Hermione, and the trio sets off for Hogwarts, where their first lessons and adventures await.

Dumbledore, Snape, Draco Malfoy and the Sorting Hat also appear in the trailer. Quidditch and castle exploration are also shown in the teaser.

The main roles are played by Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley) and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger). The cast also includes John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid) and Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), the latter sparking debate over the casting.

Essiedu said in an interview with The Times that he has been subjected to daily attacks regarding the role, even receiving death threats

The creators promise a more faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books, with each season covering one of the seven novels. The first season is set to premiere on Christmas Day 2026. However, franchise fans should note that the seasons will not be released annually due to production challenges.

Previously, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Hans Zimmer is in charge of the series soundtrack.
