A furry «employee» – a cat wearing a collar and tie – has recently appeared at a hotel in Tashkent.
The whiskered «manager» has quickly become something of a local attraction. According to visitors, he comes out into the lobby in the evenings to greet guests. Commenters joke that the cat can handle almost any request like a true manager – as long as payment comes in the form of treats.
«It seems the cat is even eligible for a loan,» «He looks like a real boss – so handsome,» «Now I have to fly to Tashkent just to see this cat,» «Is this a six-star hotel?» «Now I want to know the name of the hotel and have a cup of coffee with this employee,» «It’s like he’s the CEO, not the manager,» social media users wrote.
According to hotel staff, the cat showed up on its own. He simply walked onto the property one day, as if he belonged there, and stayed. The staff did not chase him away and eventually accepted him as part of the team. Now he lives there as a full-fledged resident — or rather, an employee.

Guests and social media users have warmly welcomed him. Many note that such small touches create a more inviting atmosphere than formal service alone. Users also shared similar stories of cats becoming unofficial «mascots» of hotels, shops and other establishments.
«My cat, nicknamed Zhora, worked with me at a hotel reception. People even described the hotel as ‘the place where the ginger cat lives,’» one user wrote. Others added: «We have a whole group of such cats living in a grocery store in Astana,» «In Karaganda, a local eco-museum has a resident cat,» «In Vietnam, almost every store has its own cats and dogs,» «I once saw cats sunbathing on loungers at a hotel in Jordan – they probably have a side hustle there as pool entertainers.»
