Lewis Hamilton, a British racing driver and seven-time Formula 1 champion, has fallen in love with American celebrity Kim Kardashian. The couple has officially confirmed their romantic relationship on Instagram, USA Today reported.
The announcement came in the form of a video titled «Tokyo Drift,» in which 41-year-old Hamilton is seen racing a red Ferrari F40 through the streets of Tokyo, where he arrived for the Japanese Grand Prix. At the end of the video, as the smoke from the tires clears, viewers can see Kardashian, who had been sitting in the passenger seat the entire time.
«That’s insane,» she says at the end of the clip.
This short Instagram video effectively marked first public confirmation of their relationship. Previously, they had only hinted at their relationship.
In February, they were first spotted together at the Super Bowl, where they were seen chatting closely in a VIP box. In March, Hamilton began openly posting affectionate emojis under Kardashian’s photos.
In Tokyo, the racing driver was also spotted with Saint, Kardashian’s 10-year-old son. The two were seen strolling together, visiting shoe shops and trading card stores.
Meanwhile, social media users are already questioning whether the romance is genuine, noting that celebrities sometimes enter relationships for attention or publicity.
Kardashian was previously married to rapper Kanye West, with whom she shares four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
Meanwhile, organizers of the U.K.’s Wireless Festival have found themselves in a dispute over West’s role as a headliner for the upcoming event, with some British politicians and Jewish organizations calling for his removal.
