World Cup final to host first-ever halftime show with Shakira, Madonna and BTS

For the first time in its history, the FIFA World Cup final will feature a halftime show. The upcoming 2026 World Cup final will include performances by prominent pop singers Madonna and Shakira, and the globally recognized K-pop group BTS, FIFA and an international education and advocacy organization, Global Citizen, announced.

The initiative also aims to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund to grant children broader access to quality education and football worldwide. The organizers plan to raise $100 million. Moreover, each $1 from tickets sold for the tournament matches will be donated to the fund.

The event will be curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and broadcast live worldwide. Furthermore, another announcement was made via a video featuring Chris Martin, along with appearances by «Sesame Street» and «The Muppets» characters.

The halftime show will take place on July 19, 2026, at the New York New Jersey Stadium. The 2026 World Cup kicks off on June 11 across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
