World-renowned Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen visited Bangladesh in his capacity as Global Goodwill Ambassador for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency.

Humanitarian mission in Cox’s Bazar

According to DimashNews, the artist arrived in Cox’s Bazar on a humanitarian mission. The area is considered one of the world’s largest settlements for forcibly displaced people. Hundreds of thousands of people living there are in constant need of support, ranging from shelter and education to social assistance.

International organizations, in cooperation with local partners, are working to ensure basic living conditions and reduce the strain on the region’s infrastructure.

At the same time, the situation remains challenging, as Cox’s Bazar faces seasonal floods and cyclones that complicate both local residents’ lives and humanitarian operations.

Qudaibergen’s work program

According to DimashNews, the artist is set to hold a series of meetings and visit humanitarian facilities to familiarize himself with the IOM’s humanitarian initiatives in Cox’s Bazar and draw attention to support for vulnerable groups and the region’s sustainable development.

Qudaibergen was initially appointed as a Regional Goodwill Ambassador in February 2024.

«In my role as an IOM Goodwill Ambassador, I am proud to advocate for the human rights of migrants. Let us unite for a world where every person is protected and open to opportunities,» the artist stated at the time.
