On June 19, at the 2026 World Cup, the following matches will be played: Brazil vs Haiti and Scotland vs Morocco in Group C, and the U.S. vs Australia and Turkey vs Paraguay in Group D.

Group D, Round 2, June 19, Seattle, Lumen Field

    The U.S. vs. Australia W2 D1 L1, (5-3)

Coaches: Mauricio Pochettino (Argentina) / Tony Popovic

    Referee: Felix Zwayer (Germany)

On the 8th day of the tournament, in Group A, Mexico secured a spot in the round of 32 after defeating South Korea 1-0. If Mauricio Pochettino’s side beats Australia, it will secure early qualification as Group D winners and advance to the knockout stage.

At the start of their home tournament, the U.S. dealt comfortably with Paraguay, winning 4-1, and will be determined to do the same against Australia. Following its win over Turkey, Australia will look to build on that result, with a defeat to the U.S. not expected. In the fixture at Lumen Field, a draw will be acceptable for Australia.

The teams last met less than a year ago in a friendly, which the U.S. won 2-1. On Oct. 15, 2025, American striker Haji Wright, who plays for Coventry City, scored twice, while Australia’s Jordan Bos of Feyenoord scored once in reply. Both players have since been included in the 2026 World Cup squads, with Bos also featuring in the win over Turkey.

Group D, Round 2, June 19, San Francisco, Levi’s Stadium

    Turkey vs. Paraguay W0 D1 L0, (0-0)

Coaches: Vincenzo Montella (Italy) / Gustavo Alfaro (Argentina)

    Referee: Iván Barton (El Salvador)

Turkey and Paraguay face a demanding situation, with both teams needing a victory, while their only previous meeting — a 1995 friendly that ended 0–0 — as well as their opening matches in the current tournament, offer little basis for assessing their current strength.

In Group C, the five-time World Cup winners will face Haiti in their second match after drawing with Morocco. Their head-to-head record in three meetings stands at 4-0, 6-0 and 7-1. However, those matches took place in 1974, 2004 and 2016, and are therefore of limited relevance to the current squad. Still, anything other than a victory for the Brazilian side would be seen as a major surprise.

Group С, Round 2, June 19, Philadelphia, Lincoln Financial Field

    Brazil vs. Haiti W3 D0 L0 (17-1)

Coaches: Carlo Ancelotti (Italy) / Sébastien Migné (France)

    Referee: Alejandro Hernández (Spain)

In the other Group C fixture, Scotland takes on Morocco in a key match, as it still has Brazil to come. A victory over Haiti may not be sufficient for Steve Clarke’s side to reach the knockout stage.

Morocco, having already faced Brazil, has more options. A draw with Scotland, provided it beats Haiti, would be enough to reach the knockout stage.

Group С, Round 2, June 19, Foxborough, Gillette Stadium

    Scotland vs. Morocco W0 D0 L1 (0-3)

Coaches: Steve Clarke / Mohamed Ouahbi

    Referee: Ilgiz Tantashev (Uzbekistan)

Morocco has experience of beating Scotland. At the 1998 World Cup in France, they defeated Scotland 3-0.

The 23rd FIFA World Cup runs until July 19. For the first time, it is being held across three countries — the U.S., Canada and Mexico — and features 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four. After the group stage, 32 teams advance to the knockout phase: the top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams. The knockout stage starts with the round of 32.
