A viral video claiming that the heat in Kyzylorda is intense enough to cook in the sun is rapidly gaining traction on social media in Kazakhstan. To demonstrate the extreme heat, a local resident attempted to cook scrambled eggs outdoors using nothing but the sun’s energy.

A culinary experiment on a scorching street

TikTok user @darkhan_1988 posted the video, which quickly attracted widespread attention.

«It’s 58 degrees Celsius in Kyzylorda. Nothing helps. Don’t go outside — stay home,» the user says in the video.

In the video, the man takes a regular frying pan outside and places it on the ground. He then cracks a few eggs into the pan, showing the egg white and yolk beginning to cook under the intense heat.

What do Kazakhstanis think?

The video sparked a heated debate in the comments. As usual, viewers split into two camps. Some said the clip accurately reflects the unbearable summer heat in Kyzylorda, describing it as «hell.» Others accused the creator of staging the experiment.

Skeptics believe the frying pan may have been preheated on a stove before filming. To prove the experiment was genuine, some challenged the creator to crack an egg directly onto the pavement instead.

Many commenters pointed out that extreme summer temperatures are common in southern Kazakhstan and that similar videos appear online almost every year.
