For the first time in history, all World Cup champions will receive individual rings from FIFA, according to the governing body’s official website. The rings will also be available for sale.
The initiative is based on a tradition in American professional sports leagues such as the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB.
One side of the handcrafted ring is engraved with the World Cup trophy, while the other features the winning team’s emblem.
The winning team will receive 30 rings, while another 1,996 will be available for purchase as officially licensed 2026 FIFA World Cup merchandise. Each ring bears a unique serial number. The price has yet to be announced.
Immediately after the final, the winning team’s captain and head coach will receive temporary rings to commemorate the victory. The players will receive their rings later, each custom-made to fit and featuring the team’s individual emblem.
Notably, the world champions will also receive a substantial cash prize. FIFA increased the total prize fund for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to a record $1.25 billion. The tournament winners will receive $50 million in prize money, excluding bonuses for victories in individual matches.
The 23rd FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 11. For the first time, the tournament is being co-hosted by three countries — the U.S., Canada and Mexico — and, also for the first time, features 48 national teams.
Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, advanced to the knockout stage. After four rounds of knockout matches, the finalists — Spain and Argentina — were determined, while France and England will face off in the third-place playoff.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled for July 19 in New York, whereas the third-place match will take place on July 18.
