Dastan Satpayev named player of the match against Middlesbrough
Dastan Satpayev, an 18-year-old Kazakhstani striker who joined British club Burnley on a season-long deal from Chelsea, was officially named Player of the Match following the game against Middlesbrough FC in the English Football League Championship. The match, held at Turf Moor in Burnley, ended in a 1-1 draw.
Playing time: Satpayev played for Burnley’s first team for the third consecutive match. He played 80 minutes and was substituted in the 81st minute to loud applause.
Shots on goal: The forward had two of his team’s three shots on target.
One of the most dangerous moments came in the 14th minute, when the goalkeeper barely managed to parry his long-range shot. In the second half, Satpayev found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the keeper made another save.
Passing accuracy: Satpayev recorded an excellent passing accuracy of 94%, completing 17 of 18 passes.
Duels: He won three of four ground duels and made one successful tackle.
The match itself was a difficult one for Burnley. Middlesbrough opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Aidan Morris, but Ugo Raghouber helped the hosts equalize with a pass in the 54th minute. After four rounds, Burnley has two points and sits second-to-last, in 23rd place in the league table. The team’s next match will be on Sept. 5 against Bristol City.
