World No. 1 Elena Rybakina will bring the 2026 U.S. Open trophy to Astana and Almaty, where she will hold masterclasses for young athletes. However, the three-time Grand Slam champion will not represent Kazakhstan at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Shenzhen, China.
According to the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, Rybakina will spend a week in the country. In addition to holding masterclasses for young tennis players, she will meet with fans and take part in autograph sessions.
Rybakina is also set to undergo a medical examination in Kazakhstan for an injury she sustained at the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, U.S. Her Achilles tendon continued to trouble her during the 2026 U.S. Open, forcing her to take painkillers. Despite the injury, she managed to win the title.
According to Rybakina’s coaching staff, she needs at least two weeks for treatment and recovery. As a result, she will not be able to represent Kazakhstan at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, scheduled for Sept. 22–27. Her top priority now is to recover and return to full training.
