Carlsberg Kazakhstan has officially opened a new non-alcoholic beverage plant in Boraldai, a settlement in the Almaty region, with $344 million invested in the facility. The plant will produce beverages under a license from PepsiCo and will have an annual production capacity of up to 1 billion liters.

The beverages will be sold in Kazakhstan and exported to other CIS countries. Kyrgyzstan has previously been named one of the export destinations.

«Despite the considerable geographical distance between Kazakhstan and Denmark, this does not pose an obstacle to our cooperation. The opening of the new facility is a vivid confirmation of this and a shared investment in the future. The plant will also help increase trade, create new jobs, improve people’s well-being and introduce new technologies into production,» Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who attended the opening ceremony, said.

Five production lines will be launched in the first phase to produce beverages in a range of flavors and packaging them. The plant’s logistics infrastructure will be further developed, including warehousing capacity and a system for transporting finished products.

Raw materials will be sourced from local producers, which is expected to help reduce the cost of the products. The plant is also equipped with energy-saving technologies.
