Kazakhstan Resumes Flights to Seven Countries

This decision was made by the interdepartmental commission

From August 17, Kazakhstan is resuming international flights to the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Belarus, Germany, the Netherlands, Egypt, Ukraine and the Russian Federation. This is reported by the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan.

According to the Civil Aviation Committee, the governments of the listed countries and Kazakhstan have already discussed in detail the issue of resuming regular passenger flights. These countries support resuming flights to and from Kazakhstan with the condition of observing the sanitary-epidemiological requirements (including thermometry, social distancing, mask regime and PCR testing).

«It should be noted, however, that for flights to Russia we need a permit from the Russian side. The number of flights on international routes will be carried out on the basis of the current intergovernmental agreements on air traffic. It will also depend on the commercial load of aircraft on each route,» the committee says.

As we remind you, international air travel was resumed on June 20: Kazakhstanis could fly to Turkey, China, South Korea, Thailand, Georgia and Japan. But on the very first flight to Turkey, four infected people were found among Kazakhstani passengers and the entire flight was sent under observation. The sick were isolated. Subsequently, the Turkish border was closed for Kazakhstanis.

Earlier it was reported that from early May, air travel was resumed between the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey and Kyzylorda. From May 11, flights resumed to Aktobe, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Taraz and Taldykorgan.

International, interregional and other air, rail and bus transportation was stopped due to the spread of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan and beyond.
