Both countries are working on a tourist program

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan continue to cooperate in the area of culture and tourism, according to Khabar 24 TV channel.

The main advantage of the new tourist program is a simplified crossing of the state border. These new tourist routes will let people visit several of the most interesting sights throughout two countries in one trip.

«This will be a very interesting tourist corridor. For example, there are Arystanbab, Akhmed Yassuyi mausoleum in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan and then Khakim ata (Suleyman Bakyrgani) and Zanghi ata mausoleums in Uzbekistan. They were both pupils of Akhmed Yassauyi,» said Aziz Abdukhakimov, deputy of Uzbekistan’s prime minister.

To attract foreign tourists, authorities of the two countries plan to soften border rules. The special visa regime will let people visit both countries under one tourist program.

«We have achieved an agreement with Kazakhstan to make border crossing comfortable and easy. We already did a lot of work here in Uzbekistan and now Kazakhstan is making some renovation work at the Zhibek zholy checkpoint. I believe we must do the same at other border checkpoints to allow tourist buses to cross the border with minimal efforts,» Abdukhakomov underlined.

Earlier Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan announced that are going to build a railway on the route of Turkestan – Shymkent – Tashkent. This task is part of the road map that has been approved by the governments of both countries.
