President Tokayev appoints new ambassadors to Germany and Lebanon

The president has already signed relevant edicts

According to the press service of the president’s office, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed new ambassadors to Germany and the Lebanese Republic.

Thus, Nurlan Onzhanov has replaced Dauren Karipov in the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Germany.

Onzhanov was born in 1960. He graduated from Humboldt University in Berlin. Over the years of his diplomatic career, he served as a counselor in Kazakhstan’s Embassy to Switzerland, head of the economic politics department under the foreign ministry and counselor of Kazakhstan’s Embassy to Germany.

Moreover, he served as consul-general of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt and was assistant to the president. From 2008 to 2014 he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Denmark. From March 2019 until recently he had served as head of the president’s office.

Also, President Tokayev has appointed Rasul Zhumaly as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Lebanese Republic.
