US diplomats pay tribute to WWII heroes in Almaty

On May 9, 2023, Victory Day in many post-Soviet countries, the U.S. Consul General Caroline Savage together with Marines from the U.S. Consulate laid flowers to the eternal light in Almaty in honor of Kazakhstan’s veterans and those who had fallen during WWII, according to the press service of the consulate.

American diplomats expressed their deepest respect to those who made Victory Day possible.

«May this day serve as a reminder of our aspiration for a sustainable world,» the consulate said in a statement.

Caroline Savage has been working in the U.S. State Department since 2004. She has served as U.S. Consul General in Almaty since August 2021.

Kazakhstan and the U.S. have been working together on expanding bilateral cooperation. Recently, the two countries agreed to take necessary actions to protect mutual investments. The agreement is aimed at protecting investors’ rights in order to improve the investment climate and further promote mutually beneficial trade and cooperation between the two countries.
