Shanghai International Film Festival names Aisultan Seitov as the best director

Aisultan Seitov, a prominent clip maker from Kazakhstan, won the Best Director prize at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival. The award was given for his debut movie Qash (Escape). The young director wrote about the news on his Instagram page.

What the movie Qash is about and when it was released: The film was released in Kazakhstan in 2022 after two years of production. The movie tells us about the massive famine in Kazakhstan in the 1930s when about 70% of Kazakhs died.

Seitov is also a well-known director and clip maker among Kazakh and Russian-speaking audiences for the clips he has shot for Galymzhan Moldanazar, Scryptonite, Ivan Dorn, Jah Khalib, L’One, Noize MC and Eljey.
