The board of directors of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) has decided to introduce two new members, according to the exchange’s website.

Dana Amanzholova, the current executive director of the exchange with a mandate for June 30, 2026, has been appointed deputy chair of the board. The other new member of the board is Yeldos Kuanyshbekov, executive director of IT.

Starting from January 22, 2024, the KASE board will include five people: Alina Aldambergen, the chair of the board, Dana Amanzholova, deputy chair, Yermek Mazhekenov, deputy chair, Zhainar Sarchakov, deputy chair and Yeldos Kuanyshbekov, executive director of IT and member of the board.

Earlier this month, Andrey Tsalyuk, the former deputy chair, retired from the position. Tsalyuk was chosen to be a deputy chair of the KASE board and its vice president in 2007. Since then, he supervised informational and analytical business lines of the exchange, supervising activities and risk management. He had worked at KASE for 28 years.

In October 2023, Aldambergen promised to reveal a scheme for merging KASE and AIX in March 2024 following the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. According to the president, two exchanges are too much for Kazakhstan’s financial system. He instructed the government to combine «the potential of the two exchanges under single management» to make the domestic market more attractive.
