Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen congratulated Olympic champion Mikhail Shaidorov on his gold medal at the Winter Games, recording a special video message that he later posted on Instagram.
Emotional message of pride and remembrance
«Mishabai [a respectful Kazakh diminutive], my brother! Congratulations on the Olympic gold. Dear brother, what a celebration. You have become a great person who inspired the whole world with your performance and artistry on the ice,» the singer said in his message.
He also recalled the late Kazakh figure skater Denis Ten, describing Shaidorov’s victory as a tribute to his memory and to the nation.
Music, performance and a symbolic gift
Dimash said he was especially pleased that Shaidorov chose a song performed by him for the free skate. The program featured «Confessa,» presented together with the aria «Diva Dance» from the film “The Fifth Element,” previously performed by Dimash during the final of the show Singer in China.
«You made me happy — thank you very much. On this occasion, I will present you with an ‘iron horse.’ Please accept this humble gift. The car is on me,» Dimash said.
National celebration and official recognition
Shaidorov’s historic Olympic gold medal sparked celebration across Kazakhstan. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also congratulated the athlete and awarded him a state honor.
