Meta Platforms is developing an AI version of Mark Zuckerberg capable of replicating his speech, behavior and communication style. This digital clone would be able to answer employee questions and give instructions as if Zuckerberg himself were doing so.
The goal of the project is straightforward: to save the CEO’s time. Once ready, the AI version is expected to be available around the clock and handle some of Zuckerberg’s tasks without his direct involvement.
The system is being trained on Zuckerberg’s tone and past statements so it can reflect his current strategy and thinking. Ideally, it would also replicate facial expressions and gestures.
In effect, this could mark the first instance of a CEO being «cloned» in a neural network — allowing the executive to participate in company processes without being physically present.
However, skepticism remains among staff, according to the Financial Times. Amid ongoing layoffs, some employees fear such technologies could eventually replace not only executives but also certain management roles.
In January, Amazon cut 16,000 employees, replacing some roles with AI. This followed another major round of layoffs in October 2025, when the company let go of 14,000 workers.
