Kazakhstan reports slowdown in projects with Iran amid Middle East conflict

During a Senate briefing, reporters asked Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issetov about losses suffered by Kazakhstani businessmen due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. He said that many business projects are currently on hold.
Issetov said that Kazakhstani entrepreneurs are currently in a wait-and-see mode, without naming specific projects.
«We had grain supplies. There were projects on mutual exchange of food products. These are likely on hold,» the deputy minister said in general terms.
In response to a question about financial and investment losses due to the war, Issetov said there were no significant losses, as the volume of investment had not been substantial.
«Nevertheless, taking into account that we had good partner relations with Iran, there is an impact, but it is not very significant,» the deputy minister added.
Previously, Kursiv.media reported that Fatemeh Mohajerani, the official spokesperson for the Iranian government, said that the estimated damage from the U.S. and Israeli airstrikes stood at roughly $270 billion.
