A mural circulating on social media in Iran has intensified uncertainty about the condition of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, nearly two months after he was last seen in public, Euronews reported.

The mural, titled «Martyrs of the Epic Struggle,» was unveiled in Mashhad Ardehal, west of Kashan. It features prominent figures such as Qassem Soleimani, former President Ebrahim Raisi and Ruhollah Khomeini, all of whom are deceased.

The artwork also depicts Mojtaba Khamenei alongside these figures, prompting speculation that he may have been killed or seriously injured in the Feb. 28 U.S.-Israeli strikes on Tehran.

Mojtaba Khamenei, who was reportedly in the same building as his late father, Ali Khamenei, at the time of the strike, has not appeared in any video or audio recordings since then. Additional confusion arose after Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, referred to him as the «martyred leader of the revolution» in a recent post. Officials later described this as an error.

Some international media, citing Iranian sources, have reported that he sustained serious injuries in the February attack but remained mentally capable of participating in decision-making.

These reports also claim he underwent multiple surgeries and suffered burns that affected his ability to speak.
