In the early hours of May 6, the esports fans gathered at Astana Airport to welcome Danil «molodoy» Golubenko with his teammates from the Brazilian team FURIA, who participate in the upcoming PGL Astana 2026.
The fans extended a warm welcome. Tens of enthusiasts gathered to get autographs and take photos with their idols. Golubenko received an especially warm welcome, since he has already become one of the most recognized and beloved players for the local fan base.
Despite the long flight, the team arrived in good spirits.
The tournament runs from May 9 to 17 and will feature 16 of the world’s top Counter-Strike 2 teams. Twelve teams were directly invited via the Global VRS ranking, while four others advanced through qualifiers.
Eight teams will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete for a $1.6 million prize pool. The final stage will be held from May 15 to 17 at Barys Arena and will be open to thousands of fans attending the decisive matches.
