Busan local authorities are continuing to address price gouging in accommodation ahead of BTS‘s Arirang World Tour concerts, scheduled for June 12 and 13.

Busan Metropolitan City announced a homestay program for foreigners in a press release. For this initiative, rather than relying on publicly run accommodation options such as temples and youth training centers, residents and civic organizations volunteering to provide temporary lodging will be brought on board.

The program will cover stays from June 12 to 14, with applications available at k-popstay.wehome.me and Visit Korea. Accommodation is free of charge; however, a deposit of approximately $33 will be required as a booking guarantee. It will be refunded upon check-in in the form of a gift card redeemable at traditional markets and neighborhood commercial districts across the city. Additionally, the city will cover liability insurance costs for home-sharing hosts.

Previously, Busan authorities arranged foreigner-exclusive accommodation at youth training centers and a temple for approximately 400 people at affordable prices, which was almost fully booked in early May.

Separately, the second day of the Busan concert will be screened in cinemas worldwide.
