Third round of group stage begins with six matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

On Matchday 14 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the group stage will conclude in Groups A, B and C, with six matches on the schedule: Switzerland vs. Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Qatar, Morocco vs. Haiti, Scotland vs. Brazil, South Africa vs. South Korea and Czechia vs. Mexico.
In Group A, Mexico is in a strong position after two victories, but South Korea, Czechia and South Africa remain in the race for the second qualifying spot. In Group B, Canada and Switzerland head into their meeting with four points each, while Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar still retain theoretical chances of qualifying. In Group C, the situation is more complicated, as Brazil, Morocco and Scotland remain in contention for the top two places, while Haiti needs a miracle to stay in the tournament.

Group B, Round 3, June 24, Vancouver, BC Place Stadium
Switzerland vs. Canada W0 D0 L1
Coaches: Murat Yakin / Jesse Marsch (the U.S.)
Referee: Ramon Abatti (Brazil)
Canada and Switzerland head into their meeting with the same number of points. After drawing with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada thrashed Qatar 6-0 and significantly improved its goal difference. Switzerland also came through the second round confidently, defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1.
A draw appears to be a favorable result for both teams, as it would almost certainly see both Canada and Switzerland advance to the knockout stage. However, the match remains important, as the winner will finish top of Group B and secure a more favorable position heading into the round of 32.

Group B, Round 3, June 24, Seattle, Lumen Field
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Qatar W0 D1 L1
Coaches: Sergej Barbarez / Julen Lopetegui (Spain)
Referee: Jesús Valenzuela (Venezuela)
Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar enter the final round with one point each. Both teams can still remain in contention, but only a victory — preferably by a comfortable margin — and a favorable result in the other match would be sufficient.
Bosnia and Herzegovina still retains a chance of advancing, while Qatar, following their heavy defeat in the second round, needs not only a win but also an improved goal difference.
2026 FIFA World Cup
Group C, Round 3, June 24, Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Morocco vs. Haiti (first meeting)
Coaches: Mohamed Ouahbi / Sébastien Migné (France)
Referee: Danny Makkelie (the Netherlands)
Morocco enters the final group-stage round in a favorable position. The team opened the tournament with a draw against Brazil before defeating Scotland 1-0. Morocco now needs only to avoid defeat against Haiti to secure a place in the knockout stage.
After two rounds, Haiti remains without a point or a goal. The team lost to Scotland and Brazil but is still technically in contention. To keep its chances of advancing alive, Haiti needs a victory over Morocco and a favorable result in the other match.

Group C, Round 3, June 24, Miami, Hard Rock Stadium
Scotland vs. Brazil W0 D1 L4
Coaches: Steve Clarke / Carlo Ancelotti (Italy)
Referee: César Ramos Palazuelos (Mexico)
The Scotland-Brazil fixture is one of the standout matches of the day. Following a draw with Morocco, Brazil defeated Haiti 3-0 and entered the final round with four points. Scotland opened the tournament with a victory over Haiti but then fell to Morocco.
A draw would be enough for Brazil, but the team is unlikely to play for the result alone. Scotland needs a victory to avoid relying on other results and outcomes in the remaining groups.

Group A, Round 3, June 24, Monterrey, Estadio BBVA
South Africa vs. South Korea (first meeting)
Coaches: Hugo Broos (Belgium) / Hong Myung-bo
Referee: Facundo Tello (Argentina)
South Korea enters the match against South Africa in a stronger position. A victory over Czechia in the opening round gave the team an important advantage, but a defeat to Mexico prevented it from securing qualification ahead of the final round.
South Africa opened the tournament with a loss to Mexico before drawing with Czechia. The team now needs a victory to keep its chances of reaching the knockout stage.
A draw could prove sufficient for South Korea, but much will depend on the outcome of the match between Czechia and Mexico.
2026 FIFA World Cup
Group A, Round 3, June 24, Mexico City, Azteca Stadium
Czechia vs. Mexico W1 D0 L1
Coaches: Miroslav Koubek / Javier Aguirre
Referee: Yael Falcón Pérez (Argentina)
Mexico is the only team in Group A to have won both of its opening matches. After victories over South Africa and South Korea, the tournament co-host is already in a strong position and could complete the group stage without dropping a point.
Czechia, by contrast, finds itself in a difficult situation. Following a defeat by South Korea and a draw with South Africa, the team needs a victory over Mexico. Even that may not be enough to secure direct qualification, but without three points, Czechia will almost certainly be eliminated.
For Mexico, the match provides an opportunity to secure first place in the group and reinforce its status as one of the strongest teams of the opening stage. For Czechia, it is a last-chance match in which the team is likely to take greater risks than in its previous two rounds.
