Freedom Holding Corp. has announced the appointment of Valeriy Kim as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO). He previously served as vice president of finance at Freedom Holding Corp. and chief executive officer of Freedom Holding Operations LLP, a subsidiary of Freedom Holding Corp.

Kim assumes the role from Evgeny Ler, who had served as the holding company’s chief financial officer since 2015. Ler will remain with the company as a special advisor to Freedom Holding Corp. CEO Timur Turlov. In his new role, he will oversee financing and M&A deals.

«As Freedom continues to explore innovative financing opportunities and pursue strategic acquisitions, Evgeny’s experience will be a significant asset to the company and to me personally. Valeriy is the natural choice to step into this role. Having built and scaled our financial reporting, tax and planning functions from the ground up, he is uniquely positioned to lead our finance function as we continue our expansion in Kazakhstan, throughout Europe and other regions. This transition reflects both continuity and confidence in our team,» Freedom Holding Corp. CEO Timur Turlov said.

Kim, 37, served as chief financial officer of Freedom Finance Global PLC from 2020 to 2024. Before joining Freedom Holding, he, like his predecessor Ler, worked at Deloitte.

Freedom Holding Corp. is an international financial company founded by Timur Turlov. The company is registered in the U.S. and listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker FRHC. The company operates in more than 20 countries and is developing an ecosystem that integrates brokerage businesses, banking, insurance companies, payment services and consumer digital products. The key market for the group is Kazakhstan.
