Nine-year-old Kaisar Akhmetov has unexpectedly become a social media sensation in Kazakhstan after posting a humorous video about undergoing emergency surgery for testicular torsion. The clip has attracted more than 8 million views and 375,000 likes.
A painful ordeal told with humor
In the video, Kaisar calmly recounts how he developed severe pain after spending time relaxing at the beach.
At first, he assumed the problem was simply that his underwear was too tight and joked that he had complained to his mother because she hadn’t bought him new underwear in a long time.
By the following morning, however, it was clear the situation was far more serious. The family first sought treatment at a local rural hospital before Kaisar was transferred to a hospital in Koksu.
During the trip, the pain became almost unbearable.
«It was 10 out of 10. I screamed and cried. My mom was so shocked she pushed the gas pedal all the way down,» Kaisar recalled.
The surgery was successful.
Thanking the doctors and nurses, Kaisar joked that «everything is still there» before unexpectedly shifting to a lighthearted review of the hospital.
«The rooms are hot. And I didn’t like the food. I hate the smell of kindergarten cafeterias. It feels like something strange happened to the food in the pot. Sorry, but that’s just how it seemed to me,» he said.
