Mike Tyson’s Ferrari F50 goes up for auction
A supercar with boxing past is set to go under the hammer. A 1995 Ferrari F50 has been listed on RM Sotheby’s auction, owned by one of history’s most famous boxers, Mike Tyson, at an estimated cost of $7 to 9 million.
Road to the auction
According to the auction house, the Ferrari F50 bearing chassis number 104220 was built more than 30 years ago to U.S. specifications. It is finished in the signature Rosso Corsa paint, while the interior is trimmed in black Nero with red seat inserts.
The supercar was delivered to Beverly Hills through Ferrari North America, where it was purchased by Tyson. However, the boxer sold the car just a year later to a buyer named Amirvand. The vehicle remained in Amirvand’s possession until 2000, after which it changed hands several times, including to an Atlanta-based technology magnate and collector. Following the last owner’s death, the Ferrari was put up for sale as part of the estate.
What the buyer will receive
Despite its age, the Ferrari F50 has been preserved in near-perfect condition, with just 9,600 kilometers on the odometer. The supercar was serviced by Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale in 2022 and again by Ferrari of Newport Beach ahead of the upcoming auction.
Together with the car, the buyer will receive the original documentation and a pair of boxing gloves autographed by Tyson.
The legacy’s successor
The Ferrari F50 debuted to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary, succeeding the iconic F40. The supercar featured a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter V12 engine derived from the power unit of Ferrari’s 1992 Formula 1 car.
Even without its famous former owner, the F50 remains one of the most sought-after models among collectors. At the same time, its connection to Tyson only adds to the appeal of this particular example.
