Freedom Holding Corp. reported an increase in revenue and its customer base for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, ended June 30, 2026.
The holding’s total revenue reached $732.9 million, compared with $524 million in the same period a year earlier. The growth was driven by higher interest and commission income, as well as increased income from transactions in trading securities.
Profit before tax reached $40.8 million, while net profit was more than $31.7 million. Earnings per ordinary share amounted to $0.52.
As of June 30, 2026, the holding’s cash, restricted funds and investment securities totaled $7 billion. Total assets increased to $14 billion, while shareholders’ equity amounted to $1.5 billion.
The number of customers across Freedom Holding companies rose to 8.7 million. The number of users of the Freedom SuperApp online banking app reached 5.7 million, while the number of brokerage accounts totaled 874,000 and customers of nonfinancial companies totaled nearly 1.5 million.
Including partner services, Freedom’s total ecosystem customer base surpassed 13.8 million, compared with 11.7 million a year earlier.
The holding’s interest income grew from $198.6 million to $295.1 million. The company attributed the increase to higher income from customer loans, margin loans, reverse repurchase agreement transactions and investments in securities.
Commission income increased from $107.6 million to $156.7 million due to an increase in the number of customers and trading activity across brokerage platforms.
Net income from transactions in trading securities rose to $79.8 million, compared with $45.6 million a year earlier. The main contributors were sales of Kazakhstan’s government securities and corporate bonds, as well as the revaluation of assets in the company’s portfolio.
Another contributing factor was the improvement in foreign exchange transaction results. A year ago, the holding posted a loss of $12.9 million, while in the reporting period it recorded a profit of $13.7 million.
The company’s expenses increased to $691.3 million from $476.5 million a year earlier. Higher insurance payouts, interest expenses, personnel costs and administrative expenses primarily drove the increase.
In the first half of 2026, the company allocated around $25 million to social and charitable projects in Kazakhstan through the Freedom Shapagat corporate foundation.
Among the key events of the quarter, the holding highlighted the transition to a unified Freedom brand for financial and digital services across its ecosystem, upgrades to the ratings of several subsidiaries by S&P Global Ratings and the completion of the acquisition of Turkish Bank A.Ş., which is expected to be renamed Freedom Bank A.Ş.
In addition, on July 10, 2026, the company completed the placement of around 2.37 million shares worth $300 million. The holding also completed the acquisition of a stake in education company Bilim Group LTD after receiving approval from Kazakhstan’s Agency for Protection and Development of Competition.
