A company that rents stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) is introducing an unusually romantic summer tradition in Aktau: concerts on the Caspian Sea.

The concerts take place at dawn, at 6 a.m. The performer sits on a special floating platform while the audience listens from SUP boards. Four concerts have already been held during the two-week experiment, featuring a violinist, guitarist and kobyz player performing for the Aktau community.

On social media, the concerts are being hailed as a new summer tradition, with users expressing their gratitude to the organizers.

«Thank you for giving us such a magical start to the day.»

«This stage is a true manifesto! Your violin in the midst of a raging sea showed that true art is the only island of stability when the whole world is sinking.»

«You’re so great! A wonderful idea, a huge contribution to the development of Aktau’s tourism,» commenters wrote.

The company told Kursiv LifeStyle that the next concert is scheduled for the weekend. Audiences will be invited to watch the sunrise while listening to a saxophonist perform on the water.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced, but tickets for the previous performance cost 6,000 tenge (about $13).
