South Korean, Kazakhstani universities to launch dual-degree program

Kazakhstani students will be able to earn a South Korean degree through a dual-degree program offered by Almaty University of Humanities and Economics (AHEU) and Seoul Cyber University, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education has announced.

The dual-degree program will be available only to students enrolled in the bachelor’s program in Information Security and Artificial Intelligence.

«The program is aimed at expanding international educational opportunities for Kazakhstani students and provides them with the opportunity to gain academic experience at both universities,» the ministry said.

How the program will work

The program is expected to follow a 1+2+1 model: students will spend their first and fourth years at AHEU and their second and third years at Seoul Cyber University.

«Such a format will allow students to expand their international professional networks, develop competencies in information technology and artificial intelligence and enhance their competitiveness in the labor market,» the ministry added.

The ministry noted that the launch of the dual-degree program was made possible by a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Kazakhstan and South Korea in 2025.
