Kazakhstan has announced the initial results of its digital «single window» system for the pharmaceutical market. Medicines for diabetes, obesity and cancer are currently undergoing accelerated review, according to the Ministry of Health.
As of early August, 63 agreements had been signed under the accelerated review process, while 20 applications had been submitted for registration, the ministry said. Six applications are currently undergoing preliminary review, while 14 have advanced to the next stage.
«Among the medicines undergoing registration procedures are Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Wegovy (semaglutide) and the anticancer drug azacitidine,» the ministry said.
A decision has already been made on the azacitidine application, recommending that the drug proceed to the next stage of the registration process.
Standard registration process
The digital «single window» is also being used for standard drug registration. According to the ministry, four applications have been received so far.
One of them, for the domestic drug LevoKaz (levofloxacin), manufactured by Kelun-Kazpharm, has been recommended for specialized assessment.
Medical devices
Two applications have been received for medical device registration: one for Map-iT diagnostic catheters and another for the PAL vibration-assisted liposuction system.
Kazakhstan launched the digital «single window» system for registering medicines and medical devices in September 2025.
The Ministry of Health said the system provides a transparent application process and makes it easier for applicants to interact with government agencies.
