Céline Dion, the renowned Canadian singer whose French- and English-language hits have earned her a huge fan base worldwide, is preparing for a major return to live performance in Paris, The Guardian reported.

The artist has not performed regularly since 2022, when she revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff-person syndrome.

However, on March 30, Dion announced a series of concerts in the French capital, immediately drawing the attention of fans worldwide. Paris authorities expect more than 30,000 fans to attend her sold-out comeback shows.

The long-awaited event has already drawn visitors to Paris, while public karaoke events across France are celebrating her return. Thanks largely to her successful French-language albums, Dion has long enjoyed enormous popularity in France.

As the singer revealed in her 2024 documentary «I Am: Céline Dion,» her condition has caused severe muscle spasms, difficulty walking and other limitations in her daily life. After several years away from regular live performances, Dion’s health has stabilized enough for her to return to the stage. However, she continues to take precautions to protect her health while rehearsing and performing.

Demand for the concerts has been exceptionally high, with millions of people registering for access to the ticket presale. Fans of Dion’s French- and English-language hits are traveling to Paris not only from across France but also from North America and other parts of the world.

The series of sold-out concerts is also expected to provide a significant boost to hotels, restaurants and other tourism businesses in the Paris region.
