The draw for the Kazakhstan-Thailand Davis Cup tie, scheduled for Sept. 18 and 19, took place in Astana. The National Tennis Center Beeline Arena will host the event on hard court.

The Kazakhstan-Thailand tie on the road to World Group I will open on Friday with a match between Alexander Shevchenko and Maximus Jones, the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation reported. Then, Timofei Skatov will face Kasidit Samrej.

Saturday will open with doubles. Denis Yevseyev and Beibit Zhukayev will face Thanapet Chanta and Pruchya Isaro. If the first three matches do not determine a winner, Shevchenko will play against Samrej. In the event of a 2-2 tie, the match between Skatov and Jones will be decisive. Meanwhile, the teams’ captains, Dias Doskarayev and Thiansit Srichapan, can replace any player before the matches.

Kazakhstan’s top-ranked player, Alexander Bublik, wasn’t included in the squad. In February, Kazakhstan’s national team, led by Bublik, lost 1-3 to Monaco in Astana, marking its third consecutive defeat. In February 2024, Kazakhstan lost 2-3 to Argentina, followed by a 1-3 defeat to South Korea in September 2025.
